Why Get Senior Portraits Before Your Senior Year?
Every year about this time I get puzzled looks from kids who have just finished their junior year in high school, and their parents, when I remind them that now is the time to get their senior portraits made. Portraits just aren’t on their mind as the carefree (or busy with a job) days of summer approach.
Why get senior portraits made now, rather than toward the end of senior year? For most high school seniors in Whatcom County, it boils down to the yearbook deadline. All local schools require senior portraits to be submitted around early October. Most schools accept and encourage creative senior portraits from independent photographers (Ferndale is an exception).
It’s a whole lot easier, and a bit cheaper, to have one portrait session to get both a photo for the yearbook and portraits to display on the walls of your home or in a senior album.
Scheduling your senior portrait now is also easier than waiting. You’re more likely to get your first choice of date, as well as options to reschedule if the weather turns out nasty.
You can also save some cash on your session fee by scheduling now. We usually charge $200 for a location session, but for a limited time senior sessions are just $16 (in honor of the class of 2016).
