Your high school senior year is the last stop before you leave home for college or other adventures. You want a senior portrait that captures who you are — a portrait that captures your individuality, a favorite place, and what you like to do for fun. And … your mom wants a great portrait of you, too!

Wild or mellow, athlete or musician, social butterfly or wallflower, nature nut or city slicker – your story is unique.

Mark Turner loves to tell individual stories with photography. He’s been a full-time photographer for over 25 years and knows how to work with light, composition, and posing to make you look fantastic.

If you can visualize it, Mark will work with you to create it, nearly anywhere you can imagine.

Home

Do you live on a farm or have a great backyard where you like to hang out? Then maybe somewhere around your home is the right place for your senior portrait.

Waterfront

Zuanich, Boulevard, Larrabee, Lake Whatcom, Little Squalicum Beach, Clayton Beach, Birch Bay — Whatcom County is blessed with many waterfront locations for your senior pictures.

Parks

Kyle senior portrait

Whatcom Falls is one of the most popular parks for senior portraits. If that’s where you go to hang out with friends then it could be a great choice for your portrait session. What’s your favorite park?

Mountains

If you’re a skier, snowboarder, or avid hiker then maybe a mountain session fits your personality.

Urban

Maybe the city is more your style, whether gritty or slick. Bellingham has many good portrait locations. And if you want a big-city look, for an extra travel charge we can go to Seattle or beyond.

No matter where you choose to have your senior portrait created, we’ll plan it together ahead of time. You want to be prepared to look your best, and to have a good time during your session.

Make It Happen

Creative collaboration between us leads to senior portraits that show who you are.

Plan

A senior portrait by Mark Turner begins with a planning session. Together, we’ll decide where to create your portraits and talk about clothing, hair, and makeup. Share your portrait ideas or brainstorm concepts with Mark. This is the time to decide whether to any props — a pet, musical instrument, sports gear, or car.

Shoot

During your session Mark will photograph you in many different poses, from your wildest ideas to something that will please a conservative grandma.

A standard session lasts 90 to 120 minutes. You can be photographed in two or three outfits in that time, maybe even more. We can bring a portable changing room on location so you can change outfits without ducking behind a bush.

You can bring a friend, or even your mom, to your session. Your friend may even get to be a VAL (voice-activated light stand).

You’ll be able to see previews of some of your portraits during your session on our exclusive iPad preview system so you can feel confident you’ll love the finished portraits later.

Pick

After your session Mark will prepare your portraits for projection on the big screen in his Wynn Road studio. Make sure mom brings her checkbook or credit card because you’re going to want them all. Choose your favorites to display on the wall of your home as a fine art print, get an album, and order some 8×10 tabletop portraits for gifts. Your viewing and purchasing session will be a week or two after your session.

Show Off

Once you’ve decided, then Mark will retouch your portraits to enhance them and clean up any complexion problems. When the archival prints come back from the lab he’ll handle whatever finishing and framing you’ve selected, then deliver your portraits to you. Show ‘em to all your friends. You’ve earned it. We’ll post digital copies of the portraits you order to our Turner Photographics Facebook page so they’re easy to share.

Guarantee

We want you to be delighted with your portraits. If you’re not happy when you see them at your viewing session we’ll do a complete re-shoot. If it’s still not working out then we’ll give you a complete refund. We want you to be satisfied and guarantee our work completely.

Investment

Our Session Fee is $200, which covers the photographer’s time, travel to nearly any location in Whatcom County, materials, and preparation of your previews.

Finished portraits, from framed wall-sized pieces of art down to wallets to share with friends, are priced à la carte. There are progressive discounts so the more you buy, the more you save. You’re never forced to buy a package that includes sizes you don’t want or need. Most families purchase a small wall portrait plus some gift prints and end up investing between $800 and $1500 in senior portraits. You’re always in control of how much you choose to spend.

A digital file for your school’s yearbook is included with your order at no extra charge.

Prices and packages subject to change without notice. Coupons and discounts may not be combined.
