About
Mark Turner has been photographing the Pacific Northwest since he moved to Bellingham in 1990. He was drawn to the natural beauty of the mountains and coast and has explored the area extensively as a hiker, backpacker, and climber – often with many pounds of camera gear on his back. He is a freelance editorial photographer specializing in botanical subjects, especially Northwest wildflowers and gardens. He photographs extensively for books and magazines both in gardens and in a wide range of native plant environments. Photographing community events, festivals, landmarks, and architecture is a welcome and rewarding change of pace for Mark. Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest, which he photographed, won an American Horticultural Society Book Award in 2007.
