2010 Garden Writers Annual Symposium
The annual feast of glorious gardens, fantastic friends, dynamic dancing, chatty coach rides, and enlightened discourse known as the Garden Writers Association Annual Symposium anticipates some Texas hospitality in Dallas September 10-14. I’ll be there, along with some 600 friends from across the continent who also write, photograph, or speak about gardens and gardening.

I’ve been attending GWA Symposia since 2001. It’s the friendliest, most welcoming group of people you’ll ever meet, full of life and enthusiasm for our shared passions of gardening, plants, and communicating. A new feature this year will be a virtual garden party on Saturday, September 11 while we’re all at the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden. Everyone who has a blog, a Facebook page, a Twitter account, or is on Linked In is encouraged to report live from the arboretum with words, photos, videos, and audio. Then the organizers will see if there’s an increase in traffic to the Dallas Arboretum website. Should be an interesting experiment. Check my Plants, Passions, Photography blog mid-month for some words and photos.
On Monday, September 13, I’ll be speaking on Punch Up Your Photos With Lightroom, a how-to about simple enhancements you can make to your photos between camera and publication. Send me a note by e-mail if you’d like a copy of the handout and you’re not going to be in Dallas. I’ll e-mail them out after I return from Texas.
