Senior Portrait Session — Josh

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of working with Josh, a Ferndale High School senior, to create his senior portraits. We met at Hovander Homestead Park, just outside Ferndale, for a couple of hours on a glorious April afternoon for his session.

The video slideshow shows my favorites from his session. He and his mom have since narrowed down the choices, picking favorite expressions and poses.

April is a bit of an unusual time to photograph senior portraits. Most schools have an October yearbook deadline, but Ferndale only uses studio portraits from one photographer in their yearbook. Josh was wearing braces last fall and wanted to wait until he got them off for his portrait session. Seeing his smile after all that dental work made it all worthwhile. He was fun and easy to work with.

We tried several locations within the park. Like any session there were some he liked better than others when he came in to see the results. I’d be really surprised if any of my clients fall in love with every single image. Which ones do you like best?
