Pocket Camera Digital Photography Classes
I had a great group of students in my class at the WNPS Study Weekend May 23. We waited out the morning rain with an indoor discussion of dozens of technical details to help each person learn more about the capabilities of their camera and how to take best advantage of them. Then we headed out to a nearby trail and made photographs. I worked with each person individually to help them improve their composition and technique. It’s very satisfying to watch as someone tries something new and improves their photo skills. Feedback from my students was universally positive.
Two more classes are coming in June and July:
June 25 & 26: Pocket Camera Garden Photography for the Whatcom Horticultural Society. Friday evening will be a public introductory lecture concentrating on working with light and composition. Then on Saturday we’ll spend the day in a garden near Bellingham photographing plants and garden landscapes. I provide lots of personal, hands-on attention to each participant so you can grow your skills quickly and confidently. We’ll end the day with a group critique of each participant’s favorite images from the day. Details, including registration information, are on the WHS website.
July 19-21: Pocket Camera Wildflower Photography for the North Cascades Institute. This Monday-Wednesday class will be held at the Learning Center on Diablo Lake. There will be an opening lecture on light and composition, a short Monday field trip to get everyone comfortable with their cameras, an all-day field session on Tuesday followed by an evening group critique, and a shorter field session on Wednesday near the Learning Center. Class is limited to 15 students so you’re assured of lots of personal attention. Details and registration information are online at North Cascades Institute website.
