The Nooksack River drains nearly all the land surrounding Mt. Baker. The North Fork begins at Nooksack Cirque under Mt. Shuksan. The Middle Fork begins at the snout of the Deming Glacier, and the South Fork flows down from the Twin Sisters and Park Butte. Nooksack Falls is on the North Fork, just a short distance off Mt. Baker Highway. This photo was taken from a ledge below the fenced viewing area. The trees which frame this shot have since been cut to give a better view from the safer vantage point above.
