Young Climber on Medicine Man

Frenchman Coulee, in central Washington, has marvelous basalt columns and has become a popular climbing area when west-side rock is cold and wet in the spring and fall. In this image, my son Zach is scaling "Medicine Man" in the feathers formation. Zach was 9 1/2 at the time, and climbing in his Teva sandals.
