Coast RedwoodThese Coast Redwoods, Sequoia sempervirens, in California's Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park (part of Redwood National Park) are so tall that standing at the base you can't see the tops. Redwoods only grow in a narrow band along the northern California and southern Oregon coast where they take advantage of abundant rainfall and coastal fog. |
