Japanese Maple, Heathers, and BirchThe University of Washington Arboretum in Seattle has a delightful sunny winter garden full of shrubs and heathers which bloom very early. This bed has Coral-bark Japanese Maples and Chinese Birches with a ground cover of heathers. The golden shrub in the background is Cornus mas. |
